{"id":3973,"date":"2015-02-22T15:24:33","date_gmt":"2015-02-22T13:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/joke-archives.com\/?p=3973"},"modified":"2015-02-22T15:24:33","modified_gmt":"2015-02-22T13:24:33","slug":"how-the-faiths-fight-a-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.joke-archives.com\/?p=3973","title":{"rendered":"How the Faiths Fight a Fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, just as an ecumenical gathering was commencing, a secretary rushed in shouting, &#8220;The building is on fire!&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Methodists gathered in a corner and prayed.<\/li>\n<li>The Baptists cried, &#8220;Where is the water?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The Quakers quietly praised God for blessings that fire brings.<\/li>\n<li>The Lutherans posted a notice on the door declaring that fire was evil.<\/li>\n<li>The Roman Catholics passed the plate to cover the damage.<\/li>\n<li>The Jews posted symbols on the doors hoping the fire would pass.<\/li>\n<li>The Congregationalists shouted, &#8220;Every man for himself.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The Fundamentalists proclaimed, &#8220;It&#8217;s the vengeance of God!&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The Episcopalians formed a procession and marched out.<\/li>\n<li>The Christian Scientists concluded that the fire would burn itself out.<\/li>\n<li>The Presbyterians appointed a chairperson, who was to appoint a committee to look into the matter and submit a written report.<\/li>\n<li>The Unity Students proclaimed the fire had no power over them.<\/li>\n<li>Some Atheists in attendance didn&#8217;t believe there was a fire.<\/li>\n<li>The Secretary grabbed the fire extinguisher and put out the fire.<\/li>\n<li>AND The Mormons, having arrived fifteen minutes late, missed the fire completely!!!!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, just as an ecumenical gathering was commencing, a secretary rushed in shouting, &#8220;The building is on fire!&#8221; The Methodists gathered in a corner and prayed.
