‘Twas the night before finals, and all through the college,
\nThe students were praying for last minute knowledge.
\nMost were quite sleepy, but none touched their beds,
\nWhile visions of essays danced in their heads.<\/p>\n
In my own apartment, I had been pacing,
\nAnd dreaded exams I soon would be facing.
\nMy roommate was speechless, his nose in his books,
\nAnd my comments to him drew unfriendly looks.
\nI drained all the coffee, and brewed a new pot,
\nNo longer caring that my nerves were shot.<\/p>\n
I stared at my notes, but my thoughts were muddy,
\nMy eyes went a blur, I just couldn’t study.
\n“Some pizza might help,” I said with a shiver,
\nBut each place I called refused to deliver.
\nI’d nearly concluded that life was too cruel,
\nWith futures depending on grades had in school.<\/p>\n
When all of a sudden, our door opened wide,
\nAnd Patron Saint Put-It-Off ambled inside.
\nHer spirit was careless, her manner was mellow,
\nShe wore a white toga, she started to bellow:
\n“What kind of student would make such a fuss,
\nTo toss back at teachers what they tossed at us?”<\/p>\n
“On Cliff Notes! On Crib Notes! On last year’s exams!
\nOn Wingit and Slingit, and last minute crams!”
\nHer message delivered, she vanished from sight,
\nBut we heard her laughing outside in the night.
\n“Your teachers have pegged you, so just do your best.
